Corporate Governance

Law, Ethics and Governance – Fragile but necessary coexistence

February 15, 2020 (L’Echo, Belgium)

In a Carte Blanche in L’Echo (Belgium), Herman Craeninckx, Partner at Strelia Avocats, observes the lack of connectivity between law and ethics in the functioning of corporate governance. In this respect, he urges the relevant actors to place the cursor at the right place and to develop a new and better managerial equilibrium between the legitimate search for economic and financial performance, on the one hand, and rules reflecting upon the ethics of an economic and social environment, on the other hand.

This Opinion contributes to the debate on Corporate Governance in search of the European enterprise initiated in the Hidden Treasures book (2019) (Chapter 3, at 45).
